Wow, the past week has been unreal.. On saturday we finished up the BC Bike Race on some great trails around Whistler (comfortably numb) with the 3 of us Kona riders coming across the line togethar to finish off a solid week of riding. Overall Barry and Kris won the Team category, and I finished 4th in the Solo division. A solid week for Kona. Thanks Dean, Andreas, Danielle and the rest of the BC Bike Race organizing squad for a A+ week!
On sunday something weird happened as we found ourselves decked out in armour, pushing around 40 lbs dh bikes and catching chair lifts up Whistler mtn. My mind fought it for the first few runs but then it accepted the fact that this was a real blast! It has always been against my beliefs to not pedal uphill to reach a dh, but when Demo Dave (Kona Team Mechanic) hooked us all up with lift tickets and Kona Supreme Operator DH bikes it was too much to pass up. The next 6 hrs were some of the funnest/scariest hrs on the bike all yr!.
Monday was relax day in Vancouver with Lilla. Tuesday was packing/travelling day to Revelstoke.
Wednesday was my birthday! It was pretty unreal. 3 hrs of xc riding in Revelstoke, a 1.5 hr physio appointment with Amy Guidinger, owner of Helios Massage and Physio clinic. http://www.heliosphysio.com/
2 hrs of website lessons from Jana (www.janavisions.com), 1 hr easy ride in Golden, and then a drive to Canmore to crash at Leightons and Lyndas house for Nationals. Unreal day!
XC Natonals this weekend are in Canmore and the course is a true mtb’rs course. Off to scout it out!
Nice work in BC bike race, little Buddy!!
